How skin tans

Tanning takes place in the skin’s top layer – the epidermis. Melanin is the protective pigment responsible for skin colour and is produced by cells called melanocytes.

This animation shows how IMEDEEN Tan Optimizer™ activates the skins own natural protective mechanism, to prepare the skin before sun exposure. After 30 days the protective pigments have been transported into all the epidermal cells, decreasing sun sensitivity and redness. During sun exposure the best tan possible is achieved with less sun. With continuous use of IMEDEEN Tan Optimizer you are able to maintain a longer lasting tan.
